Steps to Apply Online for OBC Certificate in Tamilnadu:

  • Eligibility: Check before applying if your caste is listed under the OBC category in Tamil Nadu State.
  • Required documents: Address proof like a Ration card copy, School Transfer certificate, Community Certificates, Aadhar Card for age proof, Photo, and income certificate.
  1. Visit the official Government of Tamilnadu E-Sevai website
  2. Register and then log in with your username.
  3. Then Select Services from Department wise in the dashboard.
  4. Search REV-115 Other Backward Classes (OBC) Certificate and follow the link.
  5. Now it will show the Instruction to apply for OBC Certificate.
  6. Select the Application/ Proceed.
  7. Then Enter "CAN Number" if you don't have CAN Number register using the 'CAN Register' option.
  8. Fill out the Application form with the required details.
  9. Upload the Documents in Pdf or Image formats.
  10. Complete the Application Fee Process.
  11. Finally, you will get the Acknowledgement Number. Take a printout of the receipt.


Check the Application Status of the OBC Certificate:

  • Go to the Tamil Nadu Government e-District website
  • Enter the Acknowledgement No of the application form, that you got from the revenue office or the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA) website at the time of the application process.
  • Now you can check the application status.
  • If it is completed OBC Certificate download option has been shown on the dashboard.
